the most recent one I read was i"s (about...3 weeks ago?). before that I read hikaru no go and before that Saishu-Heik(k)i Kanojo and before that DNA^2 and before that Ah! My Goddess and before that Love Hina and before that Tenjyou Tenge.

(all volumes of each, except for Saikano, where I read, hmmm, no idea actually :l. 4? 5?)

...not counting online comics, of course.

At the moment, I'm reading thru:

~Outlaw Star (book 2)

~Eden's Trail (an amazing-looking manga...the only thing wrong with it is..well, when you see Stan Lee's name before the comic...it just takes away from the overall experience...)

~Cowboy Bebop (book 3)

~Blade of the Immortal (book 1)

Ooo, finally some Blade of the Immortal readers. I've currently only got the first three graphic novels, but I'm going to order the next two tomorrow. And a Bastards!! reader... DS rocks! I have seen some Great Teacher Onizuka manga, as well as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, at the local comic store but didn't know if they were any good... care to enlighten me? And Blood the Last Vampire:2002... heard it was better than the movie (which I'd expect... the movie was pretty bad only because it was ridiculously short and cut off right before anythin happened), but lesbian action yay.gif yay.gif yay.gif ... you rock Xeo! (also you have an incredibly kawaii avatar... go neko girls!!!)

Waldenbooks and Borders... gotcha... I'll have to save my next couple paychecks since I'll be in California for march break and in addition to having access to those stores I can go to Japan town, LA. biggrin.gif

GTO is a lot of fun. Onizuka is a pervert with a heart of gold! Definitely give it a shot if you want something funny and cool. The jokes are a little on the raunchy side. Onizuka is one of my all time favorite characters...I mean I can identify with him on many levels.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon I get mainly for the art, which is really really awesome. The dialogue is a touch on the stiff side. Read a few pages. The art is fantastic.

Pfff. Nah Comic book stores are the best. My borders and even my barnes and nobles suck for stock. But my comic book store has two wallfulls and a little island thingy inbetween as well. It all depends on where you are. Also, if you know the comic book store owners you can always make sure they get the series you want.

Mekurat: You're lucky you have a cool comics store near you. I'd drool to see a manga section that large!! I've shopped at close to a dozen comic book shops and they've all been very anti-manga or stock very little (as in yeah we have AKIRA). One store owner shook his head one time and said, "how can you read that crap!" How stupid is that (he wasn't being sarcastic). Yeah, I don't shop there anymore. The Border's by me has more manga than the 4 closest comics shops COMBINED. But, I get most of it at Waldenbooks because they have that 10% discount card.

I find Barnes and Noble sucks for manga, though...all they seem to carry is Akira and Oh My Goddess.

I'm reading almost everything in Shounen Jump except for Sand Land. It seemed interesting at first, but now I think it's sort of boring.
My manga collection is very small. None of the stores around seem to have any manga.

Heh, actually I've read everything in the Shounen jump I have excpet Sandland... it just looked so damn uninteresting.

My comic book store seems to come between Mekurats and Super rats (the two rats?)... it has a single display, quite small of graphic novels, plus a selection of new individual manga issues as well as some related magazines. However, you can orde through them - I finally got around to ordering Appleseed vol 2 and Blade of the Immortal 5 and 6, so I'll be very happy in 2 weeks when they arrive. After I finish what I'm reading know, I'll probably get some GTO... since Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is relatively new I might just buy it now (depends how my wallet's doing). Thanks for the suggestion!

I forgot to include any online manga with my list. Megatokyo, of course (I actually just got the graphic novel), Under Power, Errant Story, Exploitation Now (waiting for that in print...stupid keenspot), Poison Wind, Tsunami Channel(which is kind of obvious is you go to the TsuChan forum, which is, in fact, hosted here... just scroll down the list). I can't think of any more right now, if you know any more, Beast, Higlander and Otaku (I think that was all that mentioned online manga) I'd like to know about them. The ones I mentioned are all excellent, and best of all they're FREE!!!! (sure, I still pay for them, but thats because they're so good)

Edit: yukito, I didn't see your sig before... got Duvet on my MD player, it really rocks!

Just got back from vacation in LA, where I spent about 150$ american. What did I buy? First place I went was a comic store, where I bought El Hazard volumes 1-3. Didn't buy anything at Disney, but picked up some souvenires at Universal Studios... well, ok Universal has a comic book store so I bough Gunsmith Cats 1-3 and Blood The Last Vampire 2002. Then I went to go eat lunch and instead used my lunch money to buy Gunsmith Cats 4. Yes, I have problems. Then on my second last day picked up 3x3 Eyes 1 and 2. (There was non manga stuff I bout in LA - a box of bawls... and... umm.... food?).

Anyway...
El Hazard - funny, some cool action, but not as good as the others. Lacking in fanservice too.
Gunsmith Cats - having already read Cannon God Exxaxion, I knew what to expect from Sonoda - very accurate gun desciptions, and LOTS of fanservice. I wansn't dissapointed... damn cool action manga about two bounty hunters in chicago, one is a 19 year old girl likes guns and cars, the other an 18 year old girl who likes explosives and men.
3x3 Eyes - its... odd. A well balanced manga with lots of action, some fanservice, and some good humour too. Since there are a couple people here reading it, I was wondering how much is out, and wether its still being written.
Blood the Last Vampire 2002 - After Xeo's recommendation, how could I not buy it? Yes, there's fanservice galore (YURI!!!!), cool action, and unlike the movie actually goes somewhere... also helped explain some of the movie for me.

Didn't get GTO because my comic book store has all of it, so I'll wait on it... but now Bersek is finally being released in English, and it takes top priorioty.

I just picked up Spirited Away Vol 1&2... now I need to get 3-5. ^_^ I love the way they copied the images from the movie. Plus they left the Japanese Sound Effects in it, which rocks. At the end they put a "translation" of all of them.

If I'm not mistaken, the last chapter of 3x3 Eyes (a.k.a Sazan Eyes) had only been released last year or so. Since it's quite a long series, you get to see the art improve as well (I really like the cover illustrations). The plot twists quite alot in the first couple of volumes. Yakumo slowly progresses to not getting himself mauled often too ^^;;

There are 2 anime OVAs based on it... but those only cover the first couple of volumes.
