This thread is to explain to new and old RPers what "God-Modding" is if you arent familiar with the term here's an explanation.

"God-Modding" is in essence when someones character has the ability to do practicly anything without limits or baoundaries. Even when the skill or power doesn't fit thier characters back-story and/or description.

Another example when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RPer's try. When another RPer does seem to lad a hit it heals up quick enough for it not to matter.

Put simply realy gets up everyones noses especially when the god-modder has an "I'm the best" attitude about it, or when they try to explain it away if far fetched explanations.

a few more good examples i found on the net.

It can also be using other characters that other people RP with. In other words, if you do not RP as Legolas, then you cannot have Legolas say anything, or do anything, without the player's express permission.

It can be killing a character without the player's express permission.

Basically, god-modding is the act of using one-hit-kills, taking little to no damage from attacks, and having your character do other seemingly impossible things.

Character: "And then I swung my sword and decapitated five of them, right after getting stabbed in the gut but amazingly taking no damage at all!" That's a prime example of god-modding.

The proper way allows the second person a choice of allowing their character to be hit! the only exception to this rule is when one character refuses to be hit.

"God-Modding" is frowned upon by most and thus is completely unacceptable in an environment where everyone is supposed to be allowed to let thier hair down without someone acting like an overlord.

Please take note of all this and dont "God-Mod"

I TC promise too stop my godmoding as much as I can and encourage other not too godmod either. I swear it on my word too try and not godmod as TC of lwrpAnd as any other character in lwrp I control.

but what about people who ALWAYS dodge attacks never allowing their people to be hit?? then going Person A jabs at Person B when person B always says Dodges jab then it makes no difference cause noone ever WANTS their person to be killed so they will forever keep them alive by just dodging all the hits and i think that rule should be ammended to be used ONLY if the opponent continusly dodges attacks.

The last time we had a genuine battle, let alone a war, was a hella long time before anyone here joined the forum. For over a year, it's been not much more than play banter, LoT, and random shehanigans.

God-modding seems to have dropped completely off the scope but not too long ago TC was doing it quite a bit (no offence TC but you did)
