I kinda like it in this sort of situation, it's a new direction and idea so a new art style to go along with it. I think it'd look out of place for ExCoKo (where I, personally, preferred the thick outlines/thin lines style the most), but it works here.
I'm ashamed to say I spent a couple of seconds looking at the kitty Kei-san is holding, and wondering if it was a squirrel. *rubs eyes* It's not that it's not clear, it's just that I've been sleeping too long.
Opposite/different from "harsh/secretly in love"? I'm not sure I get it. Something like, shockingly honest and direct, but low-key and casual about the whole thing? That would indeed be a different character, a type I haven't seen before. Or I could have misunderstood completely. :) Either way, this could be interesting.
Kei's got different eyes, they're not the same person. But does look sort of feminine, but I suppose that's the "Kind" type.

oh i took into consideration the whole idea of cross dressing or wearing a wig, but as i said since its already been done in Kare Kano then i didnt think Akira was going for that

This might make an interesting concept. I'm too familar with the Tsun Dare types out there so seeing this may open room for new probablities. XD We'll see. XD

Su-cool sounds like it's a pun for "school", although I guess it isn't from what you were saying. Also what's the opposite of "harsh/blunt but totally in love"? "Pretending to like each other but not being brave enough to say that they really don't"?
It looks quite nice pencilled, its certainly good considering the hour or 2 it saves you, from what you say
Anyway, I like short stories so I'm looking forward to this

Such a character might have been done before, but I guess now they want to make it a popular archetype? ^^;
I have plans for such a character before, but it's a he ^^

I think I still prefer the crazy psycho types. Shizuru (Mai Hime)!

I'm curious about how this will work out... the characters look like it's the typical "cool guy, ashamed cute girl", only switched.
Hm, I'm starting to think I have a thing for cool, down-to-earth girls in love.

Kei looks like he came of Ken Akamatsu's (however you spell his last name...the Love Hina guy) workshop. (Glasses and looks completly clueless) But this is the type of person you've come to expect into getting into a love situation. So for him, I'd say chose someone more spunkier.
As for the girl, if there's a side that hasn't been explored yet very much, it's how well of a partner she can be at work (in a proffesional/non-romantic relationship way), hence it seems alot seem to be shooting for the bossy meganekko type. But if you can show her being proffessional with what she does without always having to rely on the "bossy" syndrome, then all the better.

Kaede is my favorite character from shuffle

Though, I think a good chunk of main-role-guys in relationships seem to be pathetic, clueless, or otherwise socially inept or something... I wonder if that one will ever be replaced with anything? My perception of said guys might be off, though...

*spoilers for shuffle better not read if you havent seen 19 yet*
Kaede (and Nerine) are my favorites as well which is why watching episode 19 was so scary/chilling . watching Kaede slowly go bat shit insane after we just assumed she was nothing more then a background character really takes you by surprise (though shuffle would never do some of the things that photo shops are doing, like blood splattering all over and Kaede holding a knife and stabbing asa in the throat. danm those edits are scarier then 'School Days')
danm i'm now scared of Moe girls X_x (nah i'm kidding i still like Kaede. even if she's a bit nuts)
so whats double cast akira? some famous ps game about pycho chicks?

So, yeah, I'd assume that if you push her enough...
This is what I call 'fascination'. This is what describes my ideal girl."
