Man, that's horribly cute. Although she's even... well, she's younger-looking, after all that experience Akira had drawing Mai, which isn't a bad thing; she looks her apparent age, if not a bit younger.
...
Which makes the alternate Kotone ending even more wrong now, in retrospect.

The big Kotone illustration is cute~ Actually, it feels like there's something different about the art since the previous Excoko strips, but I can't put my finger on it... maybe just higher contrast lines?

I think this is the first time we've seen big Kotone-chan.
Something else I've been wondering about...Kotone is probably the most child-like character on here, but, and this thought comes from 2010: Odyssey Two, would computers develop emotionally much faster than humans?

I think they might - if they were designed with the possibility in mind. It would also be possible to program them so they develop more slowly or at a human rate. Since the Professor and Tsunami wanted to create an android which was as close to human as possible, I'd guess they went for a more temperate development rate.

Physically, she'll probably be 12 forever. Mentally... we'll see - Tsunami seemed to want her to be normal, however, which probably suggests that Kotone will develop SOMEWHAT emotionally. The former is because the professor has an overdeveloped love of H-game situations (which is why Onii-chan's stuck in his current mess; Love Sim Syndrome + Childlike Imouto = h-game of his dreams).

I think it makes a lot of sense that Tsunami would make her so that she grew up as normally as possible, and would've probably had complete control as such, otherwise, Akira would've snuck some of his 'akira-ness' in there somehow.....
Hmmm, now I don't know....
Edit: Actually, with that said, I don't think it's very unlikely that Akira would've stuck in a mental 'trigger' on Kotone.

To mess with onii-chan's mind.

But why would you tell a mentally 12 year old that she's 18?
To mess with onii-chan's mind.
More likely so she'd fit the 'lolita' stereotype. It backfired though, since she doesn't act more mature than her appearance, but rather the reverse.

Yes! Hooray!
(For the non-Japanese-speakers, the verb "sleep" can be said "neru" so "Tsunami Channeru" is both "Tsunami Channel" and "Tsunami-chan sleeps".)
