Hey everyone!

I just wanted to try to revitalize the ol' forum here, as apparently it hasn't seen any action since January. There have been a number of new pages since then, with 4 of the recent 6 being shaded by yours truly.

I'm wondering how everyone thinks my shading has been... Also what do you think of the story thus far? Where do you think it's going? I was surprised when Enal lost her second wing and became human (almost human?).

This story within SoC kind of reminds me of Haibane Renmei, but in reverse. Is anyone else seeing that connection? Does anyone have any other connections they would like to share?

Yeah, this forum is pretty dead, and we need to find ways to get people back. I wonder if Yoshito's still around. I met him in person (by surprise) at AX and it was cool to finally see him and talk to him!

Sorry, been doing more real life things ever since I got back from AX. I got myself really involved at work again which leaves me little time to goof off (but a good thing because I need to get off my butt and work like I used to when I first got this job). Starting to do some house hunting... and something else, involving a major change in my life. ^_^

So anyways, wanted to drop you guys a line instead of making excuses didn't I? Dang... Hmm, well first off.

It was very cool finally meeting THE Bryan in person. I'm sorry I'm not the conversationalist in real life. ^_^; Thanks for the sketch though, it really is cool. I had to hunt you down and buy a hamthology since Beast told me that you guys were selling them there. Glad I got to meet you in person.

Now onto the comic review/comments...

The shading is really great there AC! Honestly I enjoy reading the comic and looking at your coloring job now. The story does remind me a bit of HR. ^_~ Especially with the 'angel and wings' similarities. ^_~ You really do need to watch it Bryan, it is very interesting to say the least.

Anyways, glad I stopped by and spotted this post. Sorry for not really lurking lately, mostly been reading the comic here and there when I get some time and haven't had time to stop by the forum lately. I'm so bad, even said I'll try to stop by more often... >_<

Hey Yoshito,
it certainly was cool to meet you in person. I'm glad things are going well for you in life! AC has been a major help and I think we're starting to get a hang of this arrangement. I think once Chapter 10 comes around, the team will really get to shine. In the meantime, we still have a few more yards of rope to learn, but we've been making decent progress.

I need all the encouragement I can get on these pages - sometimes they're really difficult to wrap my head around, and I don't know where to begin! I'm also glad I'm not the only one who sees the similarities between the movie Keriel and En'Chin are watching, and Haibane Renmei. You really should see it - it's another one by Yoshitoshi ABe (the guy who does Lain).

This major change in your life that you're eluding to... could that be marriage? (and perhaps that's also why you're house hunting?) If so, would I be a bit premature in congratulating you? ^^

I can't wait to finally meet Bry in person myself... just in time for ALA. It's going to be one interesting January!

We're almost finished with this chapter (although right now it seems we're in like a mini-chapter), so that will be a relief. This one's been going on for, what, a few years now. I absolutely can't wait for chapter 10. Truly honest about this. I mean, I always look forward to start new chapters, but chapter 10 has been the one I've been planning for a long time. I really have high hopes that AC and I will make it the best SoC episode ever.

Wow, it has been awhile. While I have been quite busy nowadays, the reason for my disappearance is due to the fact that I forgot my login information. I was lurking, but eventually I stopped lurking on the boards since I couldn't reply to my latest responses, and it was killing me-so I just checked the website for new updates periodically. Thanks a lot though for making this thread, AC. If you didn't, I wouldn't have tried to figure out what my login information was. And it's great to see that you guys updated the comic. =)

Thanks a lot AC! Wow, I can't believe that SoC has finally finished. I gotta say, I didn't expect it to end so soon. I guess I've been reading this comic on autopilot for the last few chapters? xD Or perhaps I can try to face save ;)-and say that I've become too accustomed to SoC being around for so long, which is definitely true for me. I'm just really glad that you guys managed to end such a wonderful story. SoC will definitely go down as one of my favourites! It's been a real pleasure reading this and the boards, Bryan and AC.

P.S. Is the final chapter going to be released in the future? I just noticed that the first volume covers all of the chapters expect the last one.

thanks for the nice words, and sorry for the late response as I don't get around much to checking this forum. I'm glad you enjoyed the series. It's ended for now, but in the distant future, you never know. I know it ended rather abruptly, and it wasn't where I really planned to stop.

I am considering putting all 9 chapters into a new, revised paper volume of SoC representing the entire series (or at least, the first volume of it).

I hope that one day, Bryan will return and finish with his original foreplanned vision of the ending, even if he packs it all in and skips some chapters to get there. I always like a good, solid ending. This ending feels fairly open-ended (which I assume it's meant to be that way), but it's still nice and tidy, and reflects back on the opening... At least I think so.

Ah that's certainly an interesting idea, but unfortunately, I won't be back in California till later next summer. Perhaps they will be some other event in the future, but yes, I'd definitely like to meet and talk with you guys.
