It's been about a year or so since I last really came here I think...

Strangely enough, I see the board has gone through a big change since I left. And now has a much nicer interface than before.

Strangely though it seems my Mod Status has disappear, and I think Konstantin's too.

I know I haven't done much here mainly due to Akira's long term disappearance since he's been working on his little java project.

In fact I haven't even checked to see if I can access the blog content on the Tsunami Channel. ^^;

Eitherway, I wanted to give you guys a hello for starters.

But anyways, what I really came here to do was ask some questions....

Everyone knows that when I write my blogs, I tend to keep them focus usually on the Touhou content (since it's my addiction) But I'm really curious if you guys would like to hear about some other subject matters as well.

I have a few in mind, but it may be difficult to keep coming up with new stuff constantly. So I'm curious if any of you can maybe pitch some ideas out that I can try out of curiosity. You know just to keep things rolling... cause I know it's sort of stinks hanging in the dark with nothing going on for a while. Heck, I'm willing to try something differnet using the blog and have the community participate at the same time.

Just let me know ok?

Welcome back Otaku, hope you've been well this past year.

And now...
Insert obligatory "Needs more Mechs" comment here.

Actually, could you explain Touhou to me...I've tried to get a friend to explain why its so addicting, too which he says "Just Stay Away"

I went through the logs in the past and looked all the way back to 2005 when I first started my blog rants....

Dang, if I didn't..... I never exactly talked about Touhou in detail, I've only mentioned of them briefly in general....

You dear sir, have given me a subject matter to discuss about in the blog! And it'll likely take a while since it'll likely be covered in detail. There is a heck of alot to discuss on that subject matter. Though I will probably start by talking about the games themselves and it's rise to popularity. And then maybe from there I can cover the characters from the Touhou universe and so forth.

Course later on I do have some other games I would like to share about to.

Well, seeing as what I've unleashed...I might as well correct you on one thing...

Hey! Welcome back Totaku, long time no see. ::):

I've always kinda wondered about Touhou's history, and your post summed it up nicely. .... But am I the only one who sees black diamonds with question marks all over your explanation? They seem to be everywhere that there should be an apostrophe, but then at the end when you say, "Sorry if it overwhelms you, I'll discuss some more about the mechanics later," that apostrophe works fine. Weird.
drakahn: junichi died in that plane crash didnt he?
XD XD ok ok, so we can hope ne?

Akira: I wish he did too... ^_^;

Thanks, but really now, daimond question marks? Care to explain what browser your using? Because on Safari I do not get such an effect. I want to see if I can replicate that effect otherwise a screenshot would work too.

Also, updated it again, decided to talk about the land of Gensokyo in General.

I see it too if I set my character encoding to Unicode. If I set the encoding to Western it looks OK, but the quotation marks and apostrophes are directed (that is, the left hand quotation mark and the right hand quotation mark look different). Did you type up the post in a program that automatically replaces straight quotes with directional quotes and then copy it over, but for the final "I'll" type it in directly?

Well, welcome back, Totaku.

I haven't done much with the website, but I've been programming like crazy.
The JAM program is getting closer to what I've imagined.
I hope I can show achievement at Tsunami Channel website soon.

Touhou related topic I'm very impressed was music video "Bad Apple".
That was really amazing.

These posts about Touhou are very interesting to read,
about those daimond question marks tsunamichanel does not declare a char-set in the source-code which makes the browser choose the char-set its using if that char-set is the wrong one you can get strange characters this can be solved by adding this meta-tag to the source:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />

Although I don't know if this is the correct char-set

Ah yes Bad Apple, I remember that video, that one's extremly popular among the Touhou community as well as the net. Though the Cirno News Network didn't exactly do a good job explaining anything about (though that may be a good thing after all.).

I'll explain more about that at a later time. :P

Anyways, glad to hear your still working on the JAM project. I think my content should last for a pretty good while if I spread it out day by day. Should keep things busy for several months.

As for the diamond question thing, I think I see what you mean and Deamon007 as much as I would like to help Akira fix this error, I do not have access to his server to do that thing, though he'll likely fix it on his own with time.

Maybe?

Anyways, new topic up, now discussing Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil

Thanks Nerdcore, that's exactly what it was. My Firefox seems to default to Unicode (UTF-8) for most everything (although I notice on these forums it switches to Western (ISO-8859-1)), and if I switch to the western character encoding, the punctuation appears as those directed quotation marks you described.

Anyway, I don't really follow Touhou so I hadn't seen that music video, but it IS pretty impressive. I don't have anything nearly as impressive to share, though I did come across something Touhou related the other day. ocremix.org (a site specializing in videogame remixes) recently posted a (speed metal I suppose) remix for one of the games. From what I've heard, there's already gigs and gigs of Touhou remixes out there so, to a hardcore fan, this might be kinda meh but I found it kinda catchy.

Hey cool, updates.

I remember I played Touhou a while back. Then I just got frustrated with it. It's a wee bit difficult game, but the music is amazing.
We need more plots.

Ah yes Flowering Night, one of Sakuya's theme songs from the Touhou series. There are some variations that have grown quite popular based on that song. But yeah, I think I can top that with another song if I can find it.

Ah yes frustrating yes, but doable. it took me roughly a month to actually beat EoSD myself. Which was a challenge on it's own.

Anyways, I've updated again, this time focusing on Reimu, the lead character of the Touhou series.

Reusing this thread...

I think it's been a long time since I've last logged on to these forums. Maybe 3-4 years or so? Brings back memories.

Looks like things have changed a lot, though it's nice to see that Akira is still alive and kicking.
