Well, in the whole of my time on ponju, I have only had three different avatars.

This is ny current one, which was changed in time for the halloween ball, (which me and Blue didn't actually participate in, because of the time span it was over. If you dont know, the avatar is Gohan, just after he has recieved the Old Kai's training. At that point, he is the strongest being in the Universe! Mwhahahaha. Anyway, I went to the Ball as Gohan, and Blue went as Videl.

well i change from custom avvie to custom avvie, this one my bf made for me. HE drew urd with cat ears for me once and i thought it was cute, so he made the avvie out of it.

I've been thinking about my avatars for a bit and I just realised there's a good deal of symbolism in my choices. Quite fitting now that I think more about it and I'm amazed at how much the avatars I use describe my thoughts and opinions at the times I used them.

The reason I changed was because I'd been here over a year, so it seemed fitting. : P

The year is ending and some might want to do something new. I've made my first request for an avatar, since I've been here a couple of years and figured I should make one.

Heh, sure. Why not?

: My first one. Magus is r33t, and that particular picture makes him look both angry and happy at the same time.

: My second one. A picture of myself, of course, back when I made comics to entertain my friends. I was a big fan of the comic Bone, hence the style.

: My third one. Still a favorite, though it doesn't make... much... sense. It's just a green lizard guy from some comic I used to read (can't remember the name) that I colored. I thought it was a cool pose, and he's got shades.

: My fourth avatar. For the uncultured blokes out there, that's Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors. The smack-talk'n, people eat'n, funky sing'n plant just fits me like a glove.

: My fifth and final avatar. Also, prehaps, my most memoriable. It's the beefy Mario of legend! He just looks so determined and angry, it's awesome!

I cycle through my avatars if the mood strikes me.

I actually am using the original avatar that I started out with. Decided against using any other avatar in the end. Could change in the future.

Johnny, the pimpin' pirate from Guilty Gear. But this was mostly just a placeholder till I could get my first custom avatar...


Chiyo's Dad cosplaying as Johnny, the pimpin' pirate from Guilty Gear. As you may or may not know, Johnny and Chiyo's Dad are both played by the same voice actor, hence the crossover. Being both an Azumanga Daioh and Guilty Gear fan, I fell in love with this pic as soon as I saw it and just had to use it as an avatar.


An eyeball wearing a tophat and white suit. "What's not to love about it?" I thought. Apparently the players of the Rate the Above Avatar game down in Word Games found plenty. Maybe if I had more of the pimpin' suit in it...


And my current avatar. Like #2, it was love at first sight. It's from the scene in the Azumanga Daioh manga when Sakaki first meets Yamamaya, the only cat who doesn't bite her. The expression was just so priceless that I needed to have it as an avatar. It would've been #3, but I unfortunately didn't have a scanner at that time. Luckily I got one in time to make it #4. Otherwise I'd be a Yamamaya Nekoconeko right now. Here's some trivia: a bit of Sakaki's hair was covered by the word "Meowvelous!" so I had to edit it out. If you look closely, in the upper right corner there's a tiny unshaded area and her hair's slightly mishapen. That was my fault.

My very first av here. I've never seen much of RK, and I can't say I really liked what I saw. But I liked his facial expression.


Second av, first custom. It's the Demon Artist from Persona 2. It's the character designer's "self-insertion" into the game, so to speak, since they look quite alike. Go look up a picture of Kazuma Kaneko, said guy, and you'll understand what I mean.


This is Mana, the cross-dressing guitarist of Malice Mizer. I have a lot of respect for him. And I like the picture, too. And the source picture (lost in the sands of the internet) had him wearing an actual suit. Thought that was neat.


This is Eli, from Demonology 101. I don't read webcomics anymore (gave up around May 2003). He just looks so sad, and he's finding comfort in his cat. I like cats.


It's Elk from the .hack video games. I just wanted it as a custom av because I was on a serious .hack kick at the time. That, and I somehow identified with Elk.


This is Jun Kurosu. He's from Persona 2, but he's only a party member in Innocent Sin. I see a lot of myself in him, from the idealistic pessimism, to the kindness. I'm not gay, however. Interestingly enough, we're both Aquariuses, so I guess it's not a coincidence we have common traits.


Testament, from Guilty Gear X. I'm a huge fan of his. He's the first character I started using and currently he's my best character. I like how he's a trap character, but also has some strong combos. I picked him because I thought he looked cool and angsty. Plus, his scythe kinda makes me think of a guitar, and I can totally imagine him in a death metal band.


Testament again, only from Guilty Gear. I picked it 'cause I got tired of the old Testament picture.


SysReq, from Saturnalia. 'nother webcomic I don't read. I picked it because he has a very pensive look on his face.


Tristan, also from Saturnalia. I have no idea if it's male or female (even men have feminine faces in that comic, yo), but I just like the expression. Looks...hurt and vulnerable, which is how I was feeling at the time.

This is indeed Sakuya, from Tenchi in Tokyo, only not from Tenchi in Tokyo. Nowhere in that series will you see her wearing facepaint and toting a machine gun. No, this is from a scene in the Omake of the series, in which the sweet, demure Sakuya goes completely and utterly Badass Rambo and beats the snot out of all the other characters in the series. (The omake also stars Mihoshi as Freddy Kruger.)

Sexy and looks good in Gear. That's me to a tee.

Didn't I explain it last time I am TC7. This was my original name that I didn't start posting under this name like until mid this year and just for a short time. I retire one and bring out this one, I do that.

i have no idea what's the first avatar i used on pOnju (that was... three years ago), but i remember my first custom one. it was an outline of myself done in the similar style of one of wrestler Chris Jericho's t-shirts. my current one took over its space when i requested it a few months ago. it's a cartoon version of Verbal, the MC for Japanese rap/hip-hop groups m-flo and MIC BANDITZ.

it's GIR! i drew this in Photoshop using a screenshot of an Invader Zim episode as a reference.


i used to alternate between this avi and the GIR one. i thought avi #3 was too angry and gothabe, so i wanted a crazy and wacky one. this isn't really either, but it's good enough for me. i also changed my hairstyle, so i needed an avi that reflected that.

Now for my own avatar listing... I've done a lot of switching... I don't think that I can remember all of my non-custom avatars...
My first custom avatar (no longer on site) It was a fan-art of me done by someone from RPG World World and the forum I frequented most previous to coming to pOnju. However it wasn't that clean-looking so in the end I scrapped it ^_^; I never used it that much anyway.

My second custom avatar... I made it from a random image because I thought that it look like me a bit and resembled me, so I requested it... I also really seep to like pointed fingers like that... If anyone knows whos she is or where she's from it'd be enlightening.

My third custom avatar. ^_^ When I requested this avatar I had recently been selected to be the voice actress of Tsunami in the Tsunami Channel Radiodrama project. This is my favorite picture of Tsunami, so after receiving permission from Akira, I got it set as my avatar. TerraTsunami was my ID in the #tsunami mIRC chat.

I figured that I needed a sad avatar to represent myself and this was my choice. Long brown hair like me, so it works to be "me".

My 5th avatar gotten at the same time as my 4th one, I thought this image was suitably "motherly" to represent me... but after seeing the character in H-images from the game she's from... well she eventually got ousted as one of my private avatars.

My 6th custom Avatar replaced my first avatar. It's one I sue a lot. ^_^ It's a fan-art that Deena did of me for my birthday in 2003 I love the plushies she gave me! Shuichi, Junichi,and someone else I can't remember but they're all bishies! ^_^ I love this image!

My 7th personal avatar replaced my old #5. It's another fan-art of me! This time done by mystyk_ramen ^_^ Aren't I just adorable? I think thatif I get any further avatars they'll also be fan-arts of myself.

Anyway, avatars.

This one is the one I had to start off with. I seem to remember spending an hour or so looking around the avatars before posting at all before eventually coming across it. I used it between my join date and something like the 20th August 2002 (I did some searching to determine when I switched several months ago when I was curious about my forum history).

I then switched to this one, and I've used it ever since. I don't cycle between avatars or use anything other than this one at all. I like the colour scheme, expression, and I quite like Kenshin's personality as well. It's very doubtful that I'll ever get a different avatar, I think. Here's to three years.

I like dragons and I like green. I can't draw legs. I can't draw much of anything very well realy.

Combined that led me to the silhouette of an amphitere (legless winged dragon) on a green orby type thing.

I use it as my avatar everywhere at varying sizes.

Most of my avvies were of kaolla (Is that her name?) from love hina. I never saw Love hina before but I love tan girls with light hair. ^_^

Then I started using digi charat characters because they were adorable. And now I have Motoko!!! She looks strong and happy. And I like that.
But now I might change my avvie to Sakuya from tenchi in tokyo. I'm obsessed with her now.....

My mom has this scandanavian deck of cards. My dad always jokingly gives her crap about those "scandahovian" cards that have a "D" for the Queen, "Kn" for the Jack/Knight and "E" for the Ace. Anyway, the cards are much more detailed than the traditional american cards, and the jack of diamonds clicked with me. One scanner and paintshop session later, an avatar.


my next avatar, credit goes to DuskTejina, who drew up this deck of cards. Interstingly enough, I liked the jack of diamonds in this deck of cards too, so after I got permission I moved the parts of the card around. The borders and J/diamond symbol aren't actually located where they are in my avatar, they were moved around for the objective of having a small avatar.

Although some might see the second one as being too revealing, I'd like to point out that it was on a cover of an (american) book. Anyway, it's from the cover of the book "I Will Fear No Evil"- that spawned my sign name. I'm still sorta debating between the two.

And some others that I've used, many of them aren't formatted to 100x100 or 64x64, because I used them for msn messenger, and msn crops it automatically, but doesn't change the picture file.

1-An avatar I made recently for myself and as tribute to Phil, the writer of The Shallow End. If you didn't notice, it's a Jesus fish being fried.
2-A picture of a Mars flag from an antartic expidition of some Mars organization. And since I'm going to Mars, I think it's cool. But the resolution isn't super.
3-An awesome picture of Darth Vader.
4-An avatar that scared the crap out of me on another forum. So of course I felt the need to save it and use it in msn on my friends.
5-Bun-bun of Sluggy Freelance, ready to slice someone.
6-A picture of military handcodes, meaning something like "I'm out of 'nades". In a parody of the military handcodes, it meant "woman". Being a victim of somewhat immature humor, I found it funny.
7-The avatar of the entity "Dark Posty". After the original entity, Posty, was banned by an over-zealous admin with no soul or humor, Dark Posty came back. I took Posty's avatar, added the red and purple saying "dark posty" and made the yellow background darker.

Why do I change avatars? Because I can. Now, a brief history of the avatars that I have used in my time here:


This the first avatar I picked. At the time, I didn't feel like making my own avvie yet, so I kept it for a while even past the 1000 post mark. I didn't know who this character was until a fellow piggy informed me of his origins.

After a while, the era of my custom avatars began.


So, I finally decided it was time I make my own avatar. Here's the first of the bunch. It's an old drawing of one of my characters. I'm thinking about replacing this one with a better drawing of the same character.


Sonic is awesome. That is why I decided that he should become my second avatar around May 2003.


A little over a month later, my younger brother finally obtained a copy of NiGHTS: Into Dreams for our still-operational Sega Saturn. In commemoration, this was created.


After 11 months, I feel I'm in need of a new avatar. So I make an avatar out of Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist, which I was really crazy about at the time (still am, to some extent).


And a few months later, I change to a new avatar for the 2 years that I've spent on the Piggy Farm (and also because Mugen PWNz you!).

I started with the nauto one, the one where he's staring off into space, I thought it was too somber, so I put up the Kakashi one, then I realized how cool zabuza is...as for why I dont have a custom one...lazy, dont have photoshop >.>

Numaro uno. i picked it because he looked like me and i didn't have a high enough post count at the time to have a custom.

Current. This is used for everything. i love the picture. i use it because i've been told it's recognizable.

Most of my avvies are from my comic, well, back when it was updating. I'm currently using Coren 'cause he's so cuddly. :D

My other avatars deal with my fascination with video games.

Ahh, Ukyo Tachibana. I fell in love with Samurai Shodown series 'cause of him. He's so fast he doesn't even have his sword drawn when he fights with you - just takes it out when he needs it.

Incorrect. One is missing: dark skin. I like mocha colored skin, ala Isis from YGO or Aisha Clan Clan from Outlaw Star. But it's pretty enough I can ignore one missing fetish. Mew!

My avvie history:



My first avvie. Drawn for me by my ex-g/f, Rheya. This avvie is essentially a "bishie-nized" version of me with longer hair and a white streak for color. I like the way he's staring at you. This and my current avvie bear an uncanny resemblance to me.



My most famous avvie! From my days as the Professor! One of the few custom TC avvies allowed on pOnju with Akira's permission, I had this one the longest (over a year) during the heyday of TsuChan. When TC returns, I'll likely use him again and become pOnju's lead mad scientist once more.



Tzuan! There are only two custom ROMB avvies on pOnju: Ju has one, and I have the other. Hee hee. Colored and cropped by Ju herself for little ol' me (she's the AWESOME), this is an avvie I use when I'm in a very dark and perverted mood.

It's only problem is that Tzuan's skin is much too dark compared to what he actually is in the comic. I may replace this one with another avvie made by Ju that bears more resemblance to Tzuan. But it can wait until his reappearance.



Seiya Kou! My favorite anime character of all time. I will likely replace this avvie at some point, though, with one that matches myself a little more. I tend to prefer avvies that represent facets of my own personality. While I love Seiya (in many different ways), he's not "me" in many respects. Not sure what I could use in his stead, though.



Tenryuu from "Sakende," a shounen-ai comic Terra introduced me to. Given my current hair length, I actually look almost exactly like this picture right now. Like me, Tenryuu is seme and somewhat perverted. I use him as the "neutral" picture.

So, how to tell my personality from the avvie:

Avvie 1: Introspective and serious. Moody.
Avvie 2: INSANE.
Avvie 3: Dark and perverted. I wouldn't mind a game of "This Little Piggy" with you. And your friends. And your siblings.
Avvie 4: Um...Nothing much associated. It's why I'm thinking of replacing it...
Avvie 5: Happy and neutral.
